Show a Dropbox or OneDrive folder on your website
Connect your Dropbox or OneDrive, choose a folder, and paste one line of code into your website. Visitors get a searchable, sortable list of the files in that folder — with subfolders, document previews and downloads — and the list keeps up when you add, rename or replace files in the folder.
Try it: a real FolderBloom file list
Search for “price”, sort by date, open the Drawings subfolder, or preview a document.
This example is a Dropbox folder from our demo account. A OneDrive folder produces exactly the same file list.
Embedding a cloud folder, start to finish
Choosing a folder in FolderBloom, picking the list layout, copying the code, and the searchable file list on a website.
How to do it
About five minutes, and nothing to install.
- In FolderBloom, open Connections and choose Connect Dropbox.
- Sign in to Dropbox and approve read-only access.
- Back in FolderBloom, your Dropbox folders are ready to choose.
Either way, FolderBloom only reads your files — it never changes or deletes them.
Connect your storage
Sign in to Dropbox or OneDrive from FolderBloom and approve read-only access. FolderBloom never changes or deletes your files.
Choose the folder
Pick the folder to show. Everything inside it — including subfolders — appears on your site.
Choose a layout and preview it
List, compact list, cards or thumbnail grid, with a live preview of your real files.
Paste one line into your website
Copy the one-line embed code into any site that accepts HTML — Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, Shopify or a hand-coded page. On WordPress you can use the FolderBloom plugin’s shortcode instead.
Common questions
Do visitors need a Dropbox or OneDrive account?
No. Visitors just see the file list on your website and can preview or download files. Only you connect your storage account.
Does FolderBloom copy or change my files?
FolderBloom reads the folder with read-only access. It never changes or deletes your files in Dropbox or OneDrive. To show galleries quickly it keeps web-sized copies of photos; documents are served from your storage.
Are subfolders included?
Yes. Subfolders appear as folders visitors can open, with a breadcrumb back. You can protect a folder with a password so its contents stay hidden until a visitor enters it.
How quickly do changes show up?
FolderBloom watches the folder and updates the list after it syncs the change — usually within a few minutes. Each file keeps its link when you replace it with a new version.
Can I use more than one folder?
Yes. Each folder you publish gets its own embed code, so you can show different folders on different pages.
