Update your restaurant menu from a spreadsheet

Keep your menu in a simple spreadsheet — category, item, description and price — saved in Dropbox or OneDrive. FolderBloom lays it out as a menu on your website and on its own page you can link from a QR code. Change a price or an item in the spreadsheet and the menu updates after FolderBloom syncs. No PDF to re-export, no web designer needed.

Set it up

How to do it

About five minutes, and nothing to install.

  1. Make the spreadsheet

One row per dish with columns such as Category, Item, Description and Price. Each sheet can be a separate menu — Lunch, Dinner, Drinks.

  2. Choose “Restaurant menu”

In FolderBloom, choose the file and the Restaurant menu layout, then the sheet, title and style.

  3. Preview it

Check the sections, prices and dietary tags before you publish.

  4. Publish it

Paste one line of code into your website, use the WordPress plugin, or share the menu’s own page — handy for a table QR code.

Questions

Common questions

What columns does the spreadsheet need?

At least Item and Price. Category groups dishes into sections, Description adds a line under the dish, and dietary tags such as V or GF show as small labels.

How do I change a price or remove a sold-out dish?

Edit the spreadsheet and save it. The website menu and its QR-code page update after FolderBloom syncs — usually within a few minutes.

Do guests have to open a PDF?

No. The menu is a normal web page that reads well on phones, and search engines can read it too.

Can I have separate lunch and dinner menus?

Yes. Put each menu on its own sheet in the workbook and publish each one as its own menu.
