Turn an Excel sheet into a sortable website table

Keep your price list, schedule or inventory in Excel (or a CSV) in Dropbox or OneDrive, and FolderBloom shows it on your website as a clean table visitors can search and sort. When you edit the spreadsheet, the table on your site updates after FolderBloom syncs — no copying cells into your website again.

Live example

Try it: search and sort this table

Type “maple” to search, or click a column heading such as Price to sort. This table is a live Excel file.

Set it up

How to do it

About five minutes, and nothing to install.

  1. Save the spreadsheet in your folder

Use an .xlsx or .csv file. The first row becomes the column headings.

  2. Choose “Spreadsheet table”

In FolderBloom, choose the folder and file, then the Spreadsheet table layout. If the workbook has several sheets, pick the one to show.

  3. Preview and adjust

Turn search on or off, choose how columns line up, and see the result with your real data.

  4. Paste one line into your website

Copy the embed code into any page that accepts HTML, or use the WordPress plugin’s shortcode.

Questions

Common questions

Which files work?

Excel workbooks (.xlsx) and CSV files. For a workbook with several sheets, you choose which sheet the table shows.

What happens when I edit the spreadsheet?

Save it as usual in Dropbox or OneDrive. FolderBloom picks up the new version and the table on your site updates after it syncs — usually within a few minutes.

Can visitors edit the table?

No. Visitors can search and sort, but the data only changes when you edit the spreadsheet.

Can I offer the spreadsheet as a download too?

Yes — you can show a download button for the file above the table.
